Quest were contacted by a local contractor to work on a retail renovation of a renowned Manchester barbers shop.
The clients signature style is stripped back and industrial with a vintage twist; therefore the flooring had to both echo this and provide a practical hardwearing surface that is easy to clean whilst also being extremely durable.
First stage was to mechanically prepare the substrate to remove the old latex floor system. Quest used the HTC420 grinding machine connected to HTC25D vacuum dust control system providing a dust free operation.
Next stage was to install a base screed to the logo areas using a fast cure Cementall screed. Once this was fully cured Quest began carefully grinding various areas to reduce substrate levels and addressing any repairs. The surface was then fully prepared and ready for the micro top system to be applied.
Quest then prepared and accurately applied the Achtis Politura Micro Cement floor system to cover the 50m2 area. This interior product matched the clients brief perfectly for an ultra-smooth finish with a light, elegant and clean look.
The final part of the process was to finish the floor with a Micro Top Floor system which was installed as per the manufacturers recommended specification.
Quest provided a highly professional and specific service which included the preparation for the RPB and Manchester Bee integral logos. Throughout the installation no other trades were on site but Quest had limited time and a strict deadline to work to.
MBC building contractors and Ross Parlane were extremely delighted with the final result and Quest completed the project well within the allocated time.
